Heading for Bahir Dar

äthiopienFor the next ten days I will stay in Ethiopia for a project I took more than a year ago. I will meet with Prof. Franz Oswald of NESTown Group who is working closely with local people and authorities to build the Amhara Model Town Buranest at Lake Tana. The Swiss foundation Tesfa-Ilg – Hope for Africa took on the responsibility to support the school at Buranest with an appropriate IT Infrastructure that also provides value to the people of Buranest.

It will be my task to work on this for the next days. The goal for my visit is define the basics to the implementation project of the Tesfa-Ilg ICT Center (TIIC) in Buranest and to layout a sustainable operations concept for the TIIC.

lake tanaAt the end of my trip I will have the opportunity to talk to young entrepreneurs in Addis Ababa. I am interested about the specific challenges entrepreneurs face in Ethiopia and if there is an opportunity to support through Tesfa-Ilg.
Of course, there will be time available to do some sightseeing. The area at Lake Tana is beautiful and the origin of the Muslim, Jewish and Christian cultures. I looking forward to do some photos I can post.
