The last three days have passed rather quickly with project related meetings and a good amount of sightseeing close to Bahir Dar and in Gonder. I am very glad, that I had the opportunity to visit Buranest early on the second day of my stay. Now that I saw the village and the buildings I got a better feeling of the context of this project.

Heading for Bahir Dar
For the next ten days I will stay in Ethiopia for a project I took more than a year ago. I will meet with Prof. Franz Oswald of NESTown Group who is working closely with local people and authorities to build the Amhara Model Town Buranest at Lake Tana. The Swiss foundation Tesfa-Ilg – Hope for Africa took on the responsibility to support the school at Buranest with an appropriate IT Infrastructure that also provides value to the people of Buranest.
